LIGNA in Hannover, Germany | May ’17

The LIGNA fair in Hannover, as one of the largest woodworking fairs worldwide is the most interesting exhibition to visit especially for us to experience new trends, developments and see our manufacturers.

With over 129.000 sqm the LIGNA fair features technology for the entire wood value chain – from harvesting machinery to industrial processing and production plant and equipment. LIGNA stands out from competing shows in that it attracts an international audience of top-level decision makers and professionals from all key sectors of the wood industry.

The main trend in finishing was undeniably the automatic spray coating machines, shown by several different manufacturers. Our Steinert team is able to provide such latest spray coating machines from Venjakob for highest flexibility and quality output, for any kind of lacquering. The automatic machines ensure a faster and more accurate coating application than common manual spray applications.

Since many years another trend goes towards PUR Adhesive as main product in use for highest resistance and bonding quality also in profile wrapping, door production and flat lamination. Steinert started the cooperation with Unimak to cover all those lines with one of the strongest manufacturer in Turkey with several decades of experience and thousands of running lines in Turkey, one of the furniture hubs in Europe.

It also has to be mentioned that all over the LIGNA Fair a quite busy production plan at each manufacturer was apparent. Lead times of 9-12 months were quite commonly discussed due to large orders from Europa and China.

If you are interested in spray coating applications by Venjakob or PUR Lamination lines by Unimak, kindly contact our local sales team.

This year’s INTERZUM in Cologne, under the Slogan “The world meets in Cologne” was once again a highlight for the furniture and upholstery/mattress world. Our Steinert Team was on site to discover the latest developments all around the furniture and interior design industry.

The fair which occurs every two years in Germanys Cologne is the largest and most important fair ground for all international acting companies in the furniture and interior design industry and is highlighted with new designs, technologies and trend each time.

So does it this year and provided us with new insides to more futuristic homes. No matter if intuitive lighting system for your shower head or even an environmental time schedule for your entire energy system at home. This year was all about high end computer system driven home application controllable via application on the mobile device.

Next to the homes of the future we saw plenty of interesting new trends in the consumable development such as the increasing usage of hotmelt lamination avoiding solvent- and water-based products combined with suitable machines/lines for high efficiency and productivity in the upholstery and mattress industry. The advantages of hotmelt are not only the high bonding strength or the clean and easy application compared to solvent- and water-based products, but also that it is very convenient to use with automatic lines. Both, Steinert Technology provides to customers in the region for most competitive supply conditions.

If you are looking for more information about the hotmelt application in consumables or machinery for mattress and upholstery, kindly contact our local sales teams.

When it comes to lamination, coating, embossing or printing, Muratex as one of the main machinery supplier bringing 40 years of experience and knowhow, is the Steinert partner in the Southeast Asian region.

On the consumable side, we saw an increase of EVA-Film usage to replace water- or solvent-based productions. With this material, the manufacturer ensures environmental friendly and comfortable wearable fabrics. EVA-Film is a plasticiser free and non-sticky material which is delivered as a foil rolled on a coil. It has an excellent transparency and outstanding adhesion to various materials such as simple textile, fibre, silk and paper as well as fabric and many more.
